Reward System
The Behaviour Management Policy is available on Staff Share Administration, Policies.
Pupils can earn House points for good work and behaviour, which are added to their House total. These are a generic award system for all staff to use throughout the Upper School. The Lower School will have Golden Points which link to school values. The Upper School can receive Values Badges for demonstrating behaviours above and beyond the school values.
Reflections can be issued to manage challenging behaviour and will involve the child spending five minutes with the Head of Lower/Upper School at breaktime to discuss what has happened in the lessons. This follows a card system whereby within the classroom a pupil will receive a verbal warning, a “yellow card” for repeated offence and then issued with a “red card” which is the reflection time. This is to control low level disruptive behaviour within the classroom. The Lower School will also follow a warning system based on a visual representation within their classroom. Outside of the classroom, direct reflections can be given for running through the school, being too noisy etc.
They can also be issued with a demerit which deducts 10 points from their House total. These are issued for repeated reflections or based on behaviours and actions that do not fall into the school policy.
Deputy Head Postcard can be awarded for progress made in terms of behaviour or general standards or academic progress.
Mr Boyle’s Blackboard is used for an outstanding moment.
